Couples Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy in Salt Lake City
A different way to heal together
If you keep having the same arguments, feel disconnected despite your best efforts, or know something needs to change but not how, you’re not alone. Many couples love each other and want to stay together, yet feel trapped by old patterns of defensiveness, fear, and hurt. Couples Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) offers a chance to experience one another from a different place.
How it works
KAP combines ketamine with intentional preparation and integration. The medicine is only one part of the process. During the experience, many people find it easier to step outside long-standing reactions and rigid stories, feel less attached to being “right,” and see the pain, vulnerability, and humanity beneath conflict.
The goal isn’t to fix your relationship in one session. It’s to create moments of insight that you then strengthen in ongoing couples therapy.
Please note: I offer ketamine-assisted therapy and integration exclusively for couples, and I no longer provide traditional weekly couples therapy. Every couple in KAP must already be working with a couples therapist. Ketamine complements that work; it doesn’t replace it.
My approach
My work draws on the Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), trauma-informed care, and mindfulness and somatic practices. Beyond communication skills, we explore the protective parts that show up in conflict, the attachment needs underneath them, and the nervous system responses that keep you stuck.
What a session is like
Each session lasts about 2.5 hours in a calm, intentionally designed space, with carefully selected music or live sound healing. You are never left alone. I stay present the entire time, supporting you, monitoring your well-being, and helping you begin to process what emerges.
Is this a fit for you?
Couples KAP may be right for you if:
You both want to stay in the relationship
You’re actively in couples therapy
You keep repeating the same conflicts
You struggle to move past blame, defensiveness, or resentment
You’re willing to approach yourselves and each other with openness and curiosity
This isn’t meant to convince one partner to stay, or to replace couples therapy. It’s a space for committed couples to experience each other differently and bring that back into the work they’re already doing.
Begin your journey together
When talking alone isn’t enough, Couples KAP may offer a new path forward. I welcome couples from Salt Lake City, Millcreek, Holladay, Cottonwood Heights, Murray, Sandy, and across Utah.
