Reclaim Your Story, Reconnect With Yourself

Discover a safe, compassionate space to heal, grow, and reconnect with your truest self.

Individual Therapy

From a trauma-informed and compassionate space, we gently explore what lies beneath the surface of your struggles—not just the symptoms, but the roots. Many adults who begin individual therapy come in feeling overwhelmed, anxious, depressed, stuck, or disconnected from themselves. Whether you're navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, or a deeper sense that something needs to change, therapy can help you understand what is happening beneath the surface.

Rather than focusing solely on coping strategies, our work is about understanding why these patterns exist and what they’re trying to protect. Through Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic therapy, mindfulness, and trauma-informed approaches, we’ll uncover the parts of you that carry pain, fear, or shame and nurture the parts that long for care, connection, and healing.

Individual therapy at Becoming Counseling is for adults in Salt Lake City and Millcreek who are ready to go deeper, understand themselves more fully, and create meaningful change from the inside out.

As a therapist…

My approach to therapy draws from Inner Child Work, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), somatic therapy, mindfulness, and spiritual therapy. These evidence-informed approaches help you reconnect with your body, strengthen the mind-body connection, and make sense of emotional patterns that may have felt confusing or difficult to access.

I also believe healing can take many forms. When it feels supportive and aligned with your needs, therapy may incorporate sound healing, breathwork, vocal work, meditation, and shamanic-inspired tools to support deeper connection with yourself, your body, and your inner experience. These holistic practices are woven thoughtfully into our work rather than used as a replacement for clinical therapy.

In trauma therapy, we don’t have to force the process or rush toward change. Our work moves at a pace that respects your nervous system, your lived experience, and what feels safe enough to explore. Together, we create space to understand where your patterns come from, what they may be protecting, and how you can begin creating new ways of relating to yourself and your life.

Whether you’re seeking anxiety therapy in Salt Lake City, support for healing trauma, or guidance in building a stronger sense of self, individual therapy can help. Together, we will create space for real, lasting change — not quick fixes. It’s about coming home to yourself in a deeper way and building a more grounded, empowered relationship with all parts of who you are.
